Hi first time on so go easy on me. can you tell me what hotpoint or indesit models have the solid plastic drums.is it a specific model range or is it random models. i just want to have this info at hand for costing repairs to customer machines.regards clockworkone

Not possible to be that specific. You really need to have a look or post the model number and serial number here so that we can advise.
Some model ranges have both types fitted, most recent 6kg drums are sealed but some of the bigger 7kg upwards can be screwed.
As a rough guide on the 6kg machines, if a Hotpoint has a pump filter at the front then it will have a welded tub.
You also need to watch out for the two sizes of drum shaft & bearings on the screwed drums. You can get a 35mm drum spider as a spare but not a 30mm one.
