Both have now gone NLA just in case you didn’t know that it was coming and, if you didn’t know, you’ve not been paying attention in class. 😉

There is now no available stock of either machine aside from what people may be holding for themselves but, we have none available.

New models are due late October/early November.

Factory is closed until early next month for a refit.

    End of an era.

How did I miss that one?

Looking forward to the new machines.

Is there a post on here about the new ones etc?

It must be like saying goodbye to an old friend?

So Gorenje take over ASKO then the current run of machine stops while the factory os refitted, I think we have seen this happen before after take overs. . .

I wonder what Gorenje are going to knock out of their new factory?

    Re: ISE 1606W & CD60W

Actually, I do so wish people would think before jumping to conclusions and, do a bit of research.

    Gorenje have bought Asko, true.

As far as I am aware they now own 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} but that is on terms set between the former owners and the Swedes.

All the rest of your assumptions are just plain wrong, along with one made due to obviously not being aware of the facts in the previous paragraph.

The factory refit has been planned since early/mid 2009, long before Gorenje were on the phone. The new range of Asko machines in testing for several years before that. R&D done on them some years before that.

    Are you getting the picture?

In short, Gorenje have had sweet FA to do with the new range and have, thus far, has zero input on the products being produced. They are unlikely to have any for the foreseeable future either.

Asko has gone through several changes of “ownership” over the past few decades or so and, so far, it’s not made a jot of difference to them simply because the Swedes actually have a sense of honour and pride in what they do. And, luckily, they don’t like being told what to do either especially when it conflicts with their ethics.

So, Gorenje aren’t going to be “knocking” anything out of Asko’s plant in Sweden I shouldn’t think. If anything perhaps Gorenje will learn how to build a properly engineered appliance or two.

In fact, on the 28th July I asked a senior director in Asko what the effect would be, this is the copied and pasted response from 10th August after he returned from annual leave:

    Asko wrote:Hi Ken

    Business as usual…

    Kind Regards

I’ve worked with and around Asko product for more than twenty years, I know them well enough and speak to Asko on a regular basis. Trust me, they won’t change from wanting to make the best appliances in the world anytime soon.

    a very succinct reply Ken.
I have an Asko dishwasher which is 24 years old! used virtually every day.
We were an Asea sales & service centre which was taken over by Asko.
I get fed up of hearing the term `over engineered` applied to manufacturers such as Asko, I personally hope they keep to their values. I had the pleasure of visiting the factory in the late 80`s & can confirm everything you have said about their pride in their product.

I will be happy to carry on selling the new Asko machines whoever owns them!!!

A little OT but I am now on my 8th Volvo, even after the Swedish companies car division was taken over by Ford and latterly by a Chinese conglomerate the quality never dipped and is a good as ever. 8)

I pretty much know now that there is not a chance we will have a machine there for the meeting I’m afraid.

    Sorry.

But, I can tell you that they are superb. 😉

I take it you have photo or spec on it?

If we are changing the range will there be an alternative TD to match the new washer?

    Re: ISE 1606W & CD60W

    Okay, so it’s like this…

New washer, dryer and other bits and bobs we’re in HEAVY negotiation about at the moment. One day, I’ll be able to tell you the full story and what’s gone off which will explain the uncharacteristic silence from me on the subject. But, for the now, I have to keep my gob shut, as much as it pains me.

What I can tell you is that John and I are aiming for the same price point, much better spec and a few other things besides. And, if we get what we want, there might be more to report in the future.

But for now, it’s a waiting game… sort of.

It is eating up my time as well as John’s at the moment, hugely.

Just please trust me and give me a couple of weeks, maybe less, and I’ll be able to expand on it a lot I hope.

will the new machine have a drop down door
as i have a customer who wants an ise but every question she asks i have to say i dont know

    dimensions ?
    drop down door ?
    anti flood base ?

its hard to convince someone to wait 6 weeks when you cant tell them what they will be getting

so please can you release some details

    I agree petalpop,
We do need to know whether the spec is roughly the same as the 1606. or radically different.
Any chance of a heads up regarding differences (or similarities) between the old & the new?
