Why would they tell you, its in there interest to assume you understood the T&C’s of the contract before you signed.
Most ad companies are very good at telling you a lot of details, non of it useful and intended to make you so fed up you switch off.
I pay £5.65 a yr for my Domain and do the web design via a local web design firm or I do it myself.

Unfortunately if the web designer is the owner of your domain name and controls the hosting and you fail to pay you may well find that the next time you or anyone else tries to view it there may just be a message saying SITE CLOSED or Under construction !
It vital that you hold the domain name in your own name, if your not sure look it up on Nominet, unless you know how websites and hosting operate then a hundred quid a year for hosting and any editing may turn out to be not only reasonable but less of a headache for you !

What’s your domain name adv?
EDIT : I think I’ve found it, is this the one? 🙂
You can get that same domain name as a .com and hold it for 2 years for just £20. Your web designer and owner of that domain name is hoping to claw back the money at a rate of £99 per year otherwise such a web site designer would charge a flat one-off fee of around £500 ‘ish. 🙁

Hi
I created my own at http://www.officelive.com
Really easy to do and it costs me £9.99 per year (for domain name)
You can see how many hits you have & from where (Google, bing etc)
what words are being used to search for you etc
I find it suits me just fine as a one man bandRegards

OK, firstly you need to check through the agreement you had with the company that supplied your website. It is clear to me so far that they own the your chosen domain name and I guess they ‘host’ your site on line too? Your agreement may well commit you into paying £99 + VAT each year whilst they host your site, it may not? So you need to clear that one up first.
Secondly, and if I were you, I would secure the .com domain name. By doing so then you are the ‘registered owner’ of the right to hold that for just £20 for 2 years legal ownership. If you have full legal entitlement to your existing web pages you can secure the ‘source code’ and place it on your new .com website. Which can be hosted onto the web for around £20 per year or less, so no worries there!
If you are the least bit confused over this in any way I am more than willing to help you sort it out. But I would suggest further discussion in that regard be done via email rather than on here in public view. 😉
Any questions do please email me (my email address button is below) Please don’t pm, only email OK? 😀
