ISE 10 motor fault

I have had this fault on two machines recently so thought it was worth posting for info and to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
The rotor had come adrift from the motor shaft. Because the shaft is splined the motor still runs but the rotor is able to slide back and forward on the shaft, rubbing on the front and rear end fames.
My first customer complained about the noise, so running the machine with no belt soon pointed me to the motor. The second customers symptoms were not so obvious. She said the timer was not counting down. The door would not open and the motor was not running. No mention of noise. There was no fault code.
Turns out the loose rotor had moved to the back of the motor and rubbed through the insulation on one of the tacho wires causing intermittent shorting to earth. Replacing the motor has solved all the problems.
