    Hi all,

I aquired a Cookworks WQP8-9239 slimline dishwasher yesterday, from one of these cataloge returns type places. However, it seems to haev a small issue as below:

If I run it on a Strong, Normal oe Eco program, it happily fills, washed then drains (twice on a Strong program), it then starts filling again, the wash motor starts to run, the tablet door opens, then it dies (all lights except power go out, if you press start, it re-starts the cycle, and dies again.

It did seem to work fine on a rapid wash, finishing the cycle properly (i think) with a beep! – just tried this again, and got the same as above 🙁

I’ve got the sides off, to check for gunge, the air break looks OK, the salt container did have very yellow/brown sulfurous smelling water in it, but as the whole assy is clear, I can see water running through the softener assy.

It seems not to fill with as much water before it cuts out, as it does initially, but it’s hard to tell, cos it REALLY dislikes me opening the door in the middle of a cycle!

Can anyone suggest anything to test?

    Thanks!

Don’t waste your time. Send it back as unsuitable, then spend a bit of tiime and find a proper a proper dishwasher and be prepared to pay accordingly.

    Chinese rubbish.

Thanks for the advice- it was £20 sold as seen, so I’m not too bothered whether I get it going again, but some diagnostic assistance would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, build yourself one of THESE

Then use it in the prescribed manner. 😉

    pmsl @ jim

sorry but i do feel for the chap

even tho he bought something off teh internet knowingly as a return within 3 mths, from argos of all the peoples. people can still get hoodwinked.

fact of the matter is mike, people on here just dont know what to suggest, the machine is the basis of a fair few main manufacturers, but because it is chinese and never been designed to repair, parts are sparse, and technical info nigh on impossible to come by. basically whoever has sold it has legally sold it as spares or repair (which basically by stating sold as seen – it means you haven’t seen it before buying, yet agreed to buy) and therefore its (possibly unfairly) you’re own fault you bought a loada crap.

what penguin is saying is cut your losses and buy something that has some heritage, and what jim is saying is that you have bought suitable catapult fodder but an unsuitable dw.

    sorry?!
