I’m replacing a 140cm tall Zanussi freezer that’s become unrepairable, they tell me, within 2 years.

I want something better than Zanussi that I can trust.
About 140cm is the right height, and I’m considering the Miele FN12420F freezer, 145cm tall, at £679, but have also seen the John Lewis own brand JLFZW1601, 160cm tall, at £549.

The John Lewis is a premium price so I assume it’s made by somebody decent but haven’t confirmed who, but am wondering if it’s worth the extra for the Miele.

Any views welcome pse (and it has to be from John Lewis as they’re crediting the Zanussi price towards it).
ps. anybody know for sure who make John Lewis freezers?

    Thanks

Well Electrolux have the contract to produce majority of JL appliances. And elux own zanussi… so it might be worth making a cheeky call and finding out where the JL comes from.

Id also err away from miele, overpriced when you can get the same spec from Liebherr, who produce refrigeration for miele.

Alternatively 140-160 height gets you a hotpoint (dont go for frost free hotpoints tho) or vestfrost or a bosch

the other thing with the miele, the bins are rather narrow to account for their a+ & a++ efficiency obsession, so i would inspect in person before making any choice. after all its no good having a longlasting freezer you cant fit the food you want to in is it….
