    Just so you are aware;

    The insurance company won’t pay out on same fault repairs if the original repair was less than 6 months ago. So in theory that means we have to give 6 months Labour cover on the repair.

    For example in May I re-alligned an ‘iffy’ start button on an AW23.
    In August I had to go back again because of the start button.
    This time I changed the start button & module.

    I will get payment for the May job but not the August job.

    🙁

    Tim,

    Thats pretty obvious would you not think, it’s not new; and ISE are not the only ones who would check what was done and if related not pay out again. Other wise there would be a lot of dealers who would take the p*ss. :rolls:

    Unless you had a pcb in stock, you would have had to make 2 trips anyway so the time involved is still the same.

    5hIT happens; you win some, you loose some.
    With the labour rate the highest paid by far of any WP you can afford to loose the odd one surely. 😉

    Re: ISE job recalls

    I just hit reply and saw Steven’s post pop up, TBH, Steven pretty much said it all. There’s really not much to be said in addition.

    Apart from which T just pointed out that she just sent you a cheque for a pretty reasonable amount. What’s to be bumping your gums about? Yes, it may well not have gone out as fast as we/you would have liked, but we’re not perfect and don’t profess to be.

    Asides from which, we take it on the chin for a lot more rejections that you will ever see from the insurer.

    Re: ISE job recalls

    This wasn’t a dig at ISE more the Insurance company if anyone.

    I don’t do work for anyone other than myself so I don’t know what the ‘norm’ is when it comes to recalls and such like.

    My post was for those ISE agents like me.

    Anyhow, on a minor point I made three trips to this machine not two.
    First in May, Second in August when I realised I wouldn’t be able to re-allign, Third when I went back with the spares.

    Next time as I say, if there is a next time, perhaps I should order the parts before seeing the machine. Because as we all know we all want that first time fix.

    K, I know you are having a hard time with claims & insurance companies but its a bit harsh to say;

    Apart from which T just pointed out that she just sent you a cheque for a pretty reasonable amount. What’s to be bumping your gums about?

    I did the work & expect to get paid. In my shoes wouldn’t you be a bit miffed if you had to chase up jobs from May?

    See now you are making me ‘Bump my gums.’

    😉

    Re: ISE job recalls

    Hi Tim,

    It is very normal to have to give a six or twelve month warranty on any work carried out for a manufacturer, including the parts. What we all get annoyed about is the “whole appliance” warranty that neither ISE nor the insurer have applied although the insurer wants to as it is fast becoming the industry norm. But what no-one can do is pay for repeated calls for the same faults, which I can get as the assumption is that they are not cured.

    In this case, Steven is correct, even if you’d ordered up and thrown parts at the machine then you’d still have had at least the second visit at any rate. We do that all the time, do a repair and hope it lasts so we get paid for a first fix. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

    I apologise for the glib comment it was tongue in cheek. 😉

    I can’t really say much other than recent events with the insurer et all has slowed up the accounts which I have freely admitted and explained. It’s annoying for us as well as everyone else believe me.

    K.
