ParticipantEvening all,
Wondering if anyone has experienced the above m/c not draining?
I have done various checks, including checking for blockages and testing the drain pump, which is fine, and also receiving power.
I have been unable to find the problem, and wonder if somebody could advise!
The m/c is around 4 years old, and seems fine other than not draining.
There is no evidence of the digital display producing any trouble codes.Appreciate any help/advice.

You could try activating the flood switch which should run pump and you can then see if drain route is clear. If that works then you have probably got a board supply to pump fault.

ParticipantYou havn’t said whether its not draining when the pumps running or does the pump just not activate ?
It could be a weak pump. I had one yesterday that appeared to be doing everything it should but the pump just didn’t have enough ‘ooomph’ to pump out. The telling evidence was the impellor blades were really rough….which suggests something had got jammed in there at some point and maybe burnt out a pump winding. It could depend on where the impellor stops as to whether it starts again.

Good morning,
Thanks for your feedback.
When I had a look at the drain pump, the impeller shaft is smooth (i.e. no blades) and thought this was due to the type of pump.
However, I now wonder if is this is the correct arrangement for vortex? type pump or if this is causing the non draining problem.
Could anyone confirm the above?

Hi,
Pump impeller should have tapered blades (approximately ten). Sounds like they might have broken off.

Evening all,
Yes, the pump shaft is devoid of blades, so I have renewed the pump.
However, the m/c still refuses to drain!
It seems to do everything but drain, and I don’t know where to look next.
I opened the door mid cycle, and the drain pump was pumping water around the sump, so I wonder if there is a blockage further along the line (possibly impeller blades contributing?
Any help would be appreciated.

if you take side panel of check ther isnt a blockage in fill an drain matrix or the hoses that go to drain pump had a something stuck in there before causing no drain cheers 😆

ParticipantA quick question . Have you taken the white pump access cover off from the sump ? This needs to be fitted for the drain pump to operate correctly. Without the cover fitted , you’ll just get water being squirted round the insides of the machine !!

Well done nomadPaul!
Yes, I had temporarily left the aforementioned access cover off, not realising the effect it would have!
Thanks again for all your help chaps.
