    Hi all,
Not got the machine out to check it at the moment. The fault is that the water valve is activating as soon as it is switched on, and will fill to overflowing. No matter what position the switches are in it disregards them and carries on filling. Is there an overide sequence on this model.

    Thanks, ACE ❓

DF53 is a digi Bosch-clone IIRC – most likely triac failure on PCB. Can be valve failure, but unlikely with Eaton type valve.

Actually the DF53 is a Creda made machine not a Bosch clone. Possibly the Heating Element is shorting to earth thus supplying a feed to the inlet valve 😉 Also the wiring loom is a suspect, access is tricky though 🙄

It’s actually a Brandt made dishwasher. Exactly the same as the MFI AHY8101/8102.

As Martin said, check the heater for earth leakage, wiring is unlikely as the timer is “down under” so no “hot” leads in the door hinge area.

Yeah, back up Dave and Martin, the Heater causes all sorts of odd faults on this one, disconnect it (its right at the front once the front panel under the door is off). You should also be able to click the timer on using a torx screwdriver and they even include a timer disc in the bottom moulding, assuming another engineer hasnt knicked it. Dont forget to re set the timer to the end of programme position otherwise you will get a recall as the start button wont work.

Got that wrong, didn’t I. Am I thinking of DF64?
Is Brandt now what used to be CSF Thomson?

Dunno, there’s no such model 😆

Yep, they still use the Thomson name in Europe I believe.
