ParticipantAs we know this range of dryers pass warm air over the condenser the cooling effect resulting in the condenser removing moisture from the air, the pump at the rear then pumps this water into the tray at the top left hand side, in the event of the float switch operating the heater and motor are cut and the customer is alerted via a light on the facia.
Now if the above process was not taking place, i.e that water did not appear in the tray at the top and the pump is operating correctly, the pipes form the pump to the tray are clear and the heater is heating up and the door filter is clear, where would any moisture or water collect ?
I have a customer who has said that the machine has flooded her floor after a new pump was fitted and no water had filled into the tray ?

Participant1st of all, the float doeant turn the motor off, just the heater
it usually leaks because the minute drain hole in the base leading to the pump is full of fluff, but normally it goes into the fan chamber and sprays water over the heater and blows the fuse first!

Hi, Just checked the wiring chart and your right, heater cut only, the drain hole from the condenser to pump chamber is clear ! but this baby does not seem to be making water ? at least not into the pump area its as dry as the Sahara ?
Evidently the water has built up somewhere else other than where it meant to and has leaked outside the appliance.

Have you been back to this machine then? Or are you still going on the previous visit and what the customer is telling you over the phone?
In theory if the seal between the drum and heater shield is worn or out of shape water can leak from there.

Hi No I have not seen this as yet as Its on for the morning, the condenser is not blocked, the original problem was that the tray was not filling with water.
The pump was really noisey and seemed to be labouring, had this before change pump job done. However this one fitting a new pump they say has not cleared the original problem. Before I fitted the pump I cleared the small hole between the condenser chamber and pump chamber totally clear. Blew up the hoses to the tray, clear ! Removed the condenser and cleared and washed it out so you could see right through the veins.
See what I can find tomorrow ! bloody customer trying to claim flooring due to water coming from machine ? Even when a pump has failed I have never had a dryer wash the floor as they claim.

just a thought, if it was up on top of counter and its been bumped down i have known the the pump housing crack on the left causing exactly that problem.
