KeymasterThe fascia door (which matches the rest of the kitchen) keeps dropping off our Hygena 8224 dishwasher. Looking at the way it was fitted, I can’t see anything it could do except fall off. How *should* fascias be fitted on this model? FWIW. currently it has some metal clips screwed in to the wood which ‘grip’ holes in the machine when the door is pushed upwards. Needless to say, gravity eventually wins and the door slides down and off.

That’s exactly how they should be fitted, although the screws down each side of the inner door should also be tight as these tighten down to grip the fixings on the wooden door.
I would suggest you slightly loosen those screws, refit the wooden panel with the door down flat so it won’t slide then tighten all the screws again.
That normally does the trick 😉

The usual way that these doors are fitted are that the clips face downwards so that they sit into the holders in the d/w door and then they have a couple of longer screws that go through the d/w door itself and then into the door panel,if the door panel has got 2 strips of plastic approx 4″ in either side of the panel then they are secured by 2 screws on the door on the d/w causing them to clamp onto this plastic thus holding it still.

Thanks guys (that was quick!). However, what I see doesn’t quite match what you say. The inner door has 4 holes about and inch by 1/2 inch which take the clips. The door has no other holes, fixings or places where screws can go through from the inner door. Also, the screws inside the inner door don’t appear to be able to change the way the outer door is gripped. They just hold the inner stainless layer to the white outside layer which the door then attaches to.

KeymasterAh yeah there’s two at the top, just below the facia (IIRC) that should go all the way through but they look the same as all the rest. Got me the first time I saw one that did. 😉

Not to worry, I got medieval with it and modified it so it dropped down rather than up to engage. I had to modify the plastic panel above to make this work but it now looks like it will stay put now. Thanks for the info though.
