Has anyone any ideas of what might be the cause of this problem ?

    Whirlpool FRSB36AF20/2 side by side Service No = 8586 158 11010.

Was working fine, now I have a serious water leak from the ice maker unit at the top, into the freezer compartments. It freezes but some still leaks from the bottom of the door. Water supply turned off for the moment until I can get a lead on the problem.

    Rgds Magnimike ❓

    Hi magnimike

this is quite a simple one to diagnose, turn your water supply back on, open your freezer door and locate the little black bung above your icemaker that drops water into the icemaker itself . . . . does it start to steadily drip/flow?

If so, you will need to change the water valve in the rear of your machine, unless you know what you’re doing i would strongly advise an engineer here as there are fragile pipes in the area around where the valve is seated.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Joe
Thanks for the information, I checked the valve first “tapped it” then turned the water on and – Its started to work correctly again.
Now a few days and still OK so will hope for the best.

    Thanks again MagniMike
