I had no idea that everybody else was eating in the bar that night. But even then I was accused of turning my back on you guys 🙁 For Christ sake as soon as the cabaret had finished Carol and I were back in the bar with you all (till 11:30 anyway). My fault again see 😉 Should have bought more drinks for the guys and gals I guess 😉

Yes I agree. I must say that Martin took what he read rather well considering, and it wasn’t even his fault he gained access here. Then to come across such stuff without warning must’ve been quite a shocker to say the least.
My respect for the guy for taking it all on the chin has risen greatly over this, and now Ken and I have sussed what went wrong in the first place it won’t happen again 😉

Absobloodylutely spot on. The same thought crossed my mind, and the day may come when he reads this posting.
Sends shivers down my back, to be fair to him, as Dave says, he has taken it very well; but the grudge factor may kick in one day, and he has ammunition should he need it. We dont know what he was able to cut & paste, and lets face it, he’s up there when it comes to I.T. Also he could be holding a lot of info, after all it looks like he has had a bloody good nose around in what was supposed to have been a short time.
We know he is capable of throwing his toys out the pram and going off on his own tangent for no particular reason. He demonstrated that before.
I will give him a chance though, but I suggest we keep an eye on him.

I honestly don’t think it will happen Del. Martin told Ken and I that he could see in here which was a cock up on our behalf. I can’t really blame him for looking at the posts that were directed at him TBH.
And all the while he has maintained that it will remain that way, we actually banned him from the site for a couple of hours to rectify the problem, he was fine with it.
I have had several conversations (typed one’s) with Martin since the incident and his only reaction really was ” I wish the guys had told me I was being a prat”.
As you are all probably are aware, Ken and I can track what people are doing on the site if we see the need, which in this case we did, and martin read very little in here apart from the posts about him.
All I can say is, if the need arises and Martin decided to shout off about TWR, posts will be deleted within seconds and he can easily be banned from the whole site, but I really don’t think it will come to that.

As an add on to the previous….
Martin was asked to be a moderator due to the amount of time he spends on the site (among other reasons), all of a sudden he is faced with forums he has never seen before, he will obviously think this is intentional as he has no reason to think otherwise, he immedietly informs Ken and I that TWR is “a great laugh” in his words….
I’m not defending the guy, because yes he has been a twat in the past and I’ve told him so, but I think he knows this now as well.
Let’s see what happens, the situation will be closely monitored believe me 😉

O.K. maybe we need to give the guy a break.
I’m not bothered about what we have had to say about him, & I agree he is helpful and will deal with the dross on the site.
My concern is not what he happened to skip read on that fateful day, but what he was able to lift off the pages to read at a later date off line.
As long as we keep an eye on him, fair enough.

I tracked all the movements, 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} was looking at what was said about him, the rest looking at other stuff on the site away from the forums 😉

Dave.I just find it wierd that he managed to glean so much information in such a short time.
I can understand him being attracted to the subject, “Where’s Martin?” But what intrigued him about “Removal of Topic”, which is about 20 subjects down the screen, he managed to get down to there, & I cannot see any reason for him jumping straight down to that. Therefore I assume he plodded his way there, or maybe copied & pasted some for later use.
I accept though that Dave was on the case during the affair, and maybe I’m just being cautious.
I think he means well, but after his previous outburst, stamping his feet and running home to mum, and considering what he has read about himself, I’m amazed he’s still here. I must assume he has no bugger else to talk to.
I dunno, the guy appears on the level but maybe a bit over-enthused to a degree. Don’t really suppose we’re used to that in this industry much.
He looked at 12 topics in total in here, none too damaging at all, so I assume he scanned the headers simply looking for what was of interest or relevance to him and ignored the rest.
What I can tell you is that the guy is dedicated and works hard at the site trying to stimulate it and drum up new ideas and directions, I guess we really can’t and shouldn’t fault the guy for that should we? The other thing is that he is a smart guy, that has come across all to clearly speaking wih him a lot in the past few days, I’d say no fool by any stretch. He recognises and realises the reasons for this forum and the reason for it to remain in the shadows, so fair play to him for that.
At times he may well not come across well, perhaps even a bit off-the-wall, but that’s just his character.
I think we should give Martin a break and the benefit of the doubt for now and see how it goes, but that’s just my opinion.

I have pm’d spoken to Martin and apologised for calling him MARTIAN.
But i also believe Martin is a full shilling and this episode will bring out the real nice side of his character. I reckon he has learnt a lot from this and all it needs is a little relaxation from the rest of you for UKW to benefit fully from Martins input.
Also we will be able to have a beer and a chuckle over this at our forthcoming meeting in september 8)
