Seen more of this range of dryers than I can remember, but I have never
had to change a belt on one.

Whats the best approach? belt put on from the back of the drum or tease it over the front of the drum.

The reason I’m asking is that I feel this customers going to be a ‘watcher’.

He wants me to put a belt on his VTD00 at the same time. I’ll dazzle him with my skill with that first? 🙂

belt runs between motor and fan so sides off back off drum out (make sure front is supported) fit belt onto shaft slide in drum and reassemble

    good luck!

I usually remove the rear drum shaft pin and ease the belt over the drum from the back. (Having first unhitching the front blower fan cowl and threading the belt along the motor shaft first of course.) If Jim the Iadom wasn’t cruising the Med right now he’d give you full chapter and verse but I hope my potted version will suffice for now?

As for the VTD00 then without the special belt fitting/stretching tool I wouldn’t even bother to impress any watching observer. So I hope that you take one with you and charge for the entertainment quality of your actions?

    All the best Tim!:D

Tim. I would do the TDC32p first because you know there is more chance the vtd will scrape the back panel as soon as you turn it on and leave you red faced 😳 .
And fit it how Martin said.

    Cheers fella’s.

Very good point about the VTD00.

    🙂

Had one last year where it had drilled through the bearing and the shaft was lathed to the shape of nice chess piece. The customer said it hadn’t been noisy. :rolls:

But she picked up on the occasional scrape after I had changed shaft, bearing & belt.

    👿
