ParticipantHiya, hope somebody can help and give me some good news for a change.
Have searched the forums for info and found nothing.
My dishwasher fills and heats the water okay, but the blades do not spin and so nothing is geeting washed. I have cleaned all the blades, filters etc. Checked the manual and it says to check for any kinks in water supply pipe, done that all straight n dandy.
I have had this dishwasher for approx 2 years.
Great isnt it – my previous one I had for about 9 years, it was ccracked and gaffa taped all over but worked like a dream. The only reason I replaced it was that the shelves were worn out – the whheels kept dropping off and my plates suffered badly.
Any ideas please??September 24, 2010 at 7:15 pm #331127suedehead1

is the wash pump motor going? if not it may need a new capacitor plug out if checking.

Thanx for the reply.
It does sound like the motor is running because it sounds as if the blades are rotating – but when I open the door the blades have not moved at all. I thought there might be a linkage between the motor and the bottom blade, but it just appears to click in place and sit on top !!??September 25, 2010 at 8:50 am #331129suedehead1

the spray arms turn by the force of the water like a garden sprinkler they are not driven round.
if you open the door quickly in the middle of the program you should get wet if there is good pressure.September 25, 2010 at 9:16 am #331130desperate househusband

Hiya again, thanx for this I appreciate your help.
I must admit when the door is opened I don’t get as wet as I used to. I just put that down to the blades not moving. So its a possibility that the pump is failing, as I said all else works, it fills , heats and drains ok – and it runs through the programmes making what sounds like all the usual noises. Can pumps die slowly (if that makes sense) they don’t just pack up and sieze?
