Participanton any wash prog. fills to level rotates clockwise, counterclockwise and clockwise again, then just stops there. when clicked on a couple of steps will heat so heater and ntc obviously good. spins fine. valves all ok. can hear reversing relay on module. have tried new timer as thought possibly bad contact but still the same. any ideas? as if not getting feed to timer motor to advance?

It sounds like the module to me TBH.
Without the relevent tech info to hand – the module sends the pulse to the timer motor on this model I think.

ParticipantWe’ve got loads of these in the city centre blocks, regular problems are timer, module, timer AND module, p/system and tacho magnet falling off. Contact Tony at EMW for very reasonable replacement of timers and modules on an exchange basis.
BTW, timer advance is totally controlled by digiboard – Dave is quite right.

thanks guys and sorry for not responding sooner but i’ve been on holiday. your thoughts were just confirming my own but alas have fitted new module but to no avail. this lead me to question the pressure system. but all seems to be good there too. this model has a triple level switch for heater protection/ level 1/ level2, and a single rinse sensor if i’m right. unfortunately until i get hold of a wiring digram/ sequence chart for this model I’M STUMPED! if anyone can help i would be grateful the PNC is 914674007/01

Nemo,
I can email you wiring diagrams, sequence charts, fault finding stuff, whatever you like, my pleasure, no problem. But you know 😉 The best way to answer your problem and whatever future problems you may encounter with Electrolux/Zanussi stuff, is to obtain the “Distriparts TDS Offline CD Rom’….a priceless guide for us in the trade 😉
Meanwhile I could copy wiring diagrams, fault finding etc etc if you wish. Just let me know! 🙂

ParticipantThe timer on these is a so and so for “hanging”. The digiboard is programmed so that each timer step is a unique “file”. So, for 40c wash, we have fill to protection and wash level 1, tumble forward and reverse and acknowledge heat setting. The file runs for a fixed period, so pulses power to the timer motor, timing it to advance by the end of the file time. You can check this with your meter at the timer. When the pulses stop, the timer should have advanced – the digiboard is waiting for the next switch combination from the timer (ie tumble and heat) in order to continue.
Therefore if the pulses stop without advance, you have a programme fault. Easy!

thanks guys for all your input. got there in the end when symptoms changed. instead of filling to level and tumbling L/R/L the machine filled to rinse level and stopped. found that pressure hose to anti-suds pressure switch had small leak causing pressure switch to drop out. obviously this pcb requires a signal from the anti sud to advance as well as level switch. needless to say this job was a PAIN IN THE ASS as it took four visits and the help of a colleague to find it! i replaced the other pressure switch hose only about 18 months ago on same machine because it had rubbed thru causing machine to overfill. i checked this hose at time and it was fine and secure in plastic housing that runs down side of machine.
