ParticipantHi,
I’ve Bosch upright Freezer GSL14465GB(01) S/N 570000401003
We have had the freezer running no problems for a number of years now. Having defrosted it to move house,, when powering it up, the lights come on and it just beeps. The compressor tries to start but just makes a judder (0.25s) and keeps on beeping. Any ideas? I have tried replacing the compressor relay with no success, still the same.
Thanks

Is it likely to be the PCB? I read some other posts…

If there is a judder then silence it’s more likely the compressor especially if it’s doing the same thing with a new relay, presuming correct part has been fitted.
Compressors sometimes don’t move well,expensive to replace £180 ish.September 30, 2010 at 9:33 pm #331726CityFan

You’d think a big German company with all their years of experience could make a machine that didn’t break when you move it a few miles down the road ! It can’t be more than 3 years old… Is there a 2nd hand market for compressors?

Hi,
Did a bit of reading… Decided to check the compressor for shorting etc. Pulled off the relay to reveal the 3 terminal pins.
Test 1: Scratched some paint off the compressor to get to bare metal. Tested resistance/continuity with each of the 3 pins… No continuity.
Test 2: Measured resistance between combination of the 3 pins. 1 pin read low (C). The product of a measurement bween (C) and each of the other 2 terminals equalled the resistance of a measurement taken across the other 2 pins (non (C)).
Conclusion, the compressor should work (?).
Any way of jumping the control circuitry to force a compressor start so I can check if it’s a pcb issue? There’s a set of 2 pins to the right of the PCB (live & neural colours, which seem to be attached to a wire coming from inside the freezer) and the set of 3 (Live, Black and Neutral) coming from the other cable connection).

i have exactly the same problem with the same model – did you find a solution to your problem?

I may be misreading this. You talk about a relay associated with the compressor. Usually a condenser/capacitor is fitted between 2 of the windings to simulate 2 phases. If this breaks down, the compressor only sees a single phase & will just sit there and hum getting hot. Try replacing this condenser with one of the same value – make sure you fit it to exactly the same terminals as the one you replaced.
