    I have a Whirlpool AWA 5129 top loading washing machine which has stopped working. The power is through to the programe switch but when I swithc on nothing happens. The lid does not lock so it looks like the door interlock is faulty. I have removed the cover and have access to the switch but cannot get it out, it seems to be ‘clipped in. Can anyone help please?

    Before trying to remove the switch have you done a continuity test and seen if it remains open circuit with the lid closed? I’ve had very few problems with the interlocks on these, it’s almost always the programmer.
