We have a Smeg Dual Fuel freestanding cooker over 10 years old and the manual says it is 60cm wide. But it is definitely 59.5cm wide and barely fits in the space it is in.

Looking at replacing with another Smeg but they are all described as 60cm wide (including in the Smeg technical drawings) which will not fit in between the cabinets. I guess I need to take a tape measure down the shops and check – but if any one knows please feel free to chime in!

    99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cookers are 595mm,

60cm is the recognised description for there category, but of course you may find the cooker will be 598 or possibly even 599 wide.

the biggest problem ive encountered in sliding in freestanding cookers is where the widths are the same on x,y & z planes but are slightly offset too each other. i.e the top widths are offset 3mm to the right or left of the bottom dimension.

Many thanks, I’ll nip out to John Lewis with a tape measure to double check as well, just to be safe. 🙂
