    Hi all,

I’ve replaced the front felt bearing on this machine twice now and each time it only lasted a week before the top wears away and the screeching metal on metal comes back.

Am I doing something wrong? Is the felt bearing the only means of support for the front of the drum or are there parts missing?

I can’t understand why the machine lasted 7 years without fault but now eats the felt in weeks??

Only way to cure is a drum and duct mod i’m afraid not a cheap option.JJ

So whats that then? Was there a design fault? I’m guessing the newer ones have a different mechanism?

your dryer is a good 10 years old, it wasnt a design fault, they do fail as they get older

the modification included a new drum, front plastic baffle, seals and bearings… priced at around £90, it takes a good hour to repair
