ParticipantHi guys,
I hope you can help as you have been great in the past (couldn’t remember my login so rejoined in hope!)I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WDL540 That is currently in the kitchen with all it’s lights flashing, making a noice like it’ doing stuff but isn’t.
It started today, seemed to have problems going between different parts of the wash cycle, clicking (the noise it makes when it locks and unlocks the door).
So I stopped the cycle, gave it wee rub and started it again.
It only runs for less than a minute then all the lights start to flash again.
I suspect this isn’t something simple and am really rather worried.
Anyone got any ideas?Thanks guys

Do you mean ‘all’ of the lights or just some of the vertical ones on the left.
If all of the lights are flashing then there is a fault on the main PCB.

yea it’s all the lights, it just seems very confused. It will start a cycle but doesn’t finish it then all the lights come on.
Sounds terminal? It’s only 2 bloody years old!

A bit gutted.
Thanks for your help. What would you recommend when buying a new one?

I’ve had about 4 in ten years!Your old one could be repaired with a reconditioned PCB, but as iadom says electronics and drums on these are rubbish anyway, more than likely something else will go within the year.
If you want a new machine, what we’d recommend really depends what your budget is. If you’re fed up of buying new washing machines and want something that will last, the ISE10 would be an excellent investment, you should get 20 years out of it: –

Otherwise a decent German Bosch/Siemens would be a good choice. Let us know how much you have to spend and we could recommend some.

Hi
We stupidly bought an extended warranty for the howler of a thing so I can get it fixed but it took them three weeks to come last time.
I think I might get it fixed and then flog it.
That one you showed me looks fab doubt i can spend that much on a machine though.perhaps £400 maybe a bit more if I sell the other one.
Thanks so much

We’ve been going round installing quite a few of these at the moment: –

Customers seem to love the Varioperfect system, lets you choose if you want to optimise wash for speed, efficiency or a balance of the two with one button press. Seem very well built as well, these are German rather than Spanish Boschs.
Good price on that site but if you let us know where you live a local indie might be able to beat it for you, e.g. we are in Oxford and do it for £369 including delivery and install.
