Not been to this yet but customer say’s it makes a grating noise,
FD 8106 so just over nine years old.

Not done one of these before but if it is bearings is it a reasonable job or a bug**r?.

    thanks for your reply,

proper expensive, parts prices are silly, but bosch also know you cnat buy a new integrated condenser any more 🙂

Not sure what gandh1’s problem is with these machines. 😕

But they are pretty straightforward to work on, easy to access and suss out what the problem is. And parts reasonably priced to complete an effective repair. In fact a nice little earner, truth be known…. 8)

martin, my point is fix it at all cost because suggesting a write off is not what het customer will want to hear when a b/i condenser is not available on the market any more. and 50 quid for a bearing kit direct from bosch is not what i call reasonable.

    THANK you…

ps yes martin i worked on one of these about a year ago when a customer claimed currys told her she could have a condenser dryer for £300 which would be built in, and much bette rvalue than a £100 repair from bosch. i actually spent lots of time researching possible replacement b/i condensers only to find there were none, so she would be best having us fix it for whatever it cost as hotpoint did not make built in condensers… regardless of what shes been told.

True Bosch / Neff don`t 😉 but Miele do, so long as you don`t mind parting with at least £900.
