hotpoint dryer

    hi .. this condenser dryer model ctd00p keeps clicking the one shot cut out.. I’ve replaced both stats checked for blockages step down cooling and she assures me she doesn’t turn it off early.. any ideas please am I missing something obvious .. thanks

    Most likely timer, might be worth checking cap’s ok first though.

    I’ve had this it was the timer missing the cooling step at the end of cycle

    If you’ve got a plug in energy monitor you can easily check if heaters switching off by monitoring the amps (or watts).

    can i ask were one would get an energy monitor and at what cost sounds like a handy tool

    Replace the heater complete with stats & you should find that will cure it……DON’T ASK ME WHY!

    But it works!

    by the way stats should be 1703200 for this one 😀

    Or get a clamp meter (Maplins) and you get a meter and a clamp. I’ve used one for14 years and couldn’t do without it.

    Got to agree with Rob on this, whilst I have both devices, the clamp meter scores far better than the 13amp plug-in meter due to the simple fact you don’t need to plug it in! 😀
