ParticipantHi Guys, went to fit replacement stat for this fridge today only to find appliance has original 2 terminal stat fitted and the replacement has 3 terminals. Any Hotpoint/Indesit engineers got any details of new wiring/technical bulletin?

You have the wrong stat. Model is a SAN300UKZ
Two different stats used, two tag one is a 2604182.

Hi Jim, I have tried inputting that number into Connections but it still comes up with three term stat. Masterpart comes up with part number
C00141230 but no picture and if you input this number to Connect it comes up with 3 term stat.Alan

also there is no Z listed on the appliance but the 34532 is quoted on connect when looking up indesit appliances.

The info I have given is from the latest edition of Partfinder.
The three tag one is to switch the inner light off when the stat is in the OFF position.
There are many different models of the SAN300.
The SAN300UK is a Hotpoint badged machine, commercial code 61742.
The SAN300UKZ is badged as Indesit, commercial code 34532 which has two different stats.

Yep, that commercial code, 34532 brings up a SAN300UKZ on Partfinder (and elsewhere)
Two tag stat fitted before serial number 80531.9999.
I would have thought that it would be possible to fit the stat you have in place of a two tag one but not vice versa.
No obvious tech info on it though.

Doesn’t mean to say that a SAN300UKZ does not exist. 😉
Can you not work out which two terminals control the compressor on the new stat, the three terminal one is only to allow the interior light to be switched off via the stat.

I would assume that if terminal 3 is for switching the light off then 1 and 2 would be the connections? 😕

from our experience tho its a bit unlikely to be a stat tho, h/p indesit have seen 3 of our san300s getting overy warm already this year under warranty, and we have had to replace all of them now. and thats 2 too many for our boss to continue to stock them… and all had the stats replaced as an initial fix by hp about 4 weeks after tehy went wrong…
