ParticipantHi,
I have a KFN 8762 SD ed fridge freezer that has developed a fault. A few weeks ago the back panel of the fridge iced up quite a lot and I had to switch the fridge off for a few hours to defrost it. When switched back on it has been fine, until now. Tonight an F2 error code started flashing on the fridge panel so I removed what I think is the evaporator sensor(???) attached to the back panel and while doing so the F2 stopped intermittently but has now started again. Shall I just replace the sensor? Can I get one from this site?
Thanks

I’ve found that some of these sensors leak moisture in where the cable goes in, giving out of range readings intermittently. If you can, dry it out with a hairdryer on warm setting only, put a smear of silicone sealant around it & this should cure it.

F4 flashing beep continuous:this happened to me a coup0le of days ago – and I cleaned and dried sensor – there was a bit of plastic stuck to the back wall so I hoped that had cleared it. Had FF off for 6 hours as at 3am the beep was driving us all nuts – and yes poor dog. So it took all day to climb to freezing temps then yesterday evening it went crazy again at minus 16 and now the freezer doesn’t work at all and the fridg is room temperature. I phoned the Miele engineer. Not only is it £98 for call out – rest on top – cant come till Tuesday!! so here I am. I see you can buy a sensor – but how would I fit it? Isn’t it hard? (lone female who can do loads of clever things but DIY is limited)

Do you hear fan in freezer running? If there’s excessive frost it may have stopped fan from turning.
