ParticipantNot sure if this is the right place BUT
I have a diplomat dishwasher ACA9102
the dishwasher in the past has had the bottom arm stop spinning? today the whole caboodle has stopped working.
the power light is on.
it has he salt light on but should still work!!. (will fill tomorrow)
there is no beeping.
ive checked the float in the bottom and it it dry, ive also toggled the float and is clicking on/off but still no joy.
i have held all buttons to illuminate all lights then pressed programme button. this then triggers something awaiting the door shutting. when i shut the door water pumps in but it then stops. i have taken the water in the unit out by hand but it still wont work.
ive checked the filters and they are clear.
i have had my fingers in the sump to check for blockage, as i stick for finger in it trips something with the pressure?Any help graciously accepted BUT
Is there an engineer in the salford/walkden area in manchester that can help me?October 14, 2010 at 12:12 am #332806baldy55

It’s possible your circulating pump has failed. There is two types of pumps fitted to Diplomat/Whirlpool dishwashers. One looks like an oversized drain pump and these are now superseeded by a revised pump which has a capacitor attached to it. If your pump is the revised version you could try a new capacitor. Look on side of capicitor and you will see the type required eg “5uf” which your local spres shop will require.

Sorry Baldy but this is a Chinese Haier made dishwasher not a Whirlpool, the fact it hasn’t leaked into the base tray or all over the kitchen yet is a miracle, as you have had problems with only one spray arm working in the past I would suggest that the wash pump has failed.
It could be the capacitor that is faulty but knowing the ‘high’ quality of the wash motors on Chinese tat I would recommend you get a qualified Engineer to replace the wash motor/pump at probably a cost in excess of £180, even better pull it out take the decor door off and chuck it in the nearest skip as your money will follow it into that skip sooner or later :lesson:
Don’t forget to unplug it before you do anything on it :zap:
