lost the bit of paper with his machine details on. customer is really REALLY anal, and suspect will cancel the call if i even ring him to find out. you know the type. military, dont make mistakes type. thing is he expected me to order the parts the minute i got back, at 8pm. he rung up next day to find out when they were in and i told a white lie that they were ordered and would be in before the end of the week. i then go to find the scrap of paper with the horror of realising its in the jeans i had on day before that are now in the wm. i know it was silly and it should have been in my book. i also shouldnt have lied (like no one else has never done that?!) so im utterly gutted, only need a stat and shelf for it.

defo built in 2005 as i remember the s/n was 5XXXX… etc
anyone have the pnc or model no – there really cant be too many variations can there???

If no one can help I would say that your parts supplier says there are two versions of this appliance and you need to check the parts visually to ensure the correct part. If he is obstructive say it’s the only way he will get a faster repair as one version is mostly out of stock.
Not that I have ever done this 😳

I would just ring the guy and say there are variations with the shelving (TRUE). I’d ask him to look at the sticker & confirm to me the PNC to ensure the correct part arrives 🙂
I can’t see anyone having a problem with that… If so, then maybe job lost & lesson learnt!

You could go back with a possible or two and when you’ve got the old one out announce, “Ahh…. oh dear….., seems they’ve sent me the wrong part. I’d better take down those numbers again and get onto them.”
Anyway, if he’s really that “anal” do you really want to keep his custom?

the professional thing to do is just ring the guy up and arrange to go back, in my opinion every customer is worth keeping as long as they pay, the only ones i am not interested in are the ones that dont want to pay. You cant like every one in this world and a job is money!
