I have just replaced the heating element and thermostats on my crusader ct61c, everything seemed fine on my bench , drum spun, fan whirled,heater heated up and inside of drum warm.put allthe panels back and wife tested with a load, guess 2hours later clothes still wet and noheat. Sho claims she smelt some burning but since then no smell. looking at the element though not heating looks fine. Will the thermostats blown again, or am I missing something obvious. Haveseen there is a front thermostat ,what does that do, coulsthat affect the ones by the heater. Wife getting agitated , I’m getting frustrated, should be straight forward . Has anyone any suggestions?

PS. You should not run the dryer with the ‘panels’ off.

my cdt00p is awaiting attention, not mine , but my daughters. Also disconnect machine when investigating, but can see heating element getting red with back plate off. I don’t suppose u have an answer to my question?

I will say it once again, you should not run the dryer with the panels off, especially the back panel. :rolls:
There is no mention in your posts of why you changed the heater/stat assembly in the first place ?
Also none of your posts mention the use of electrical test equipment. If you did use them then you would know if the stats had failed again or if the element was OK or not, you can’t tell if an element is sound by ‘looking at it’. 😉
The thermostat in the door will stop the heater from working if it is O/C, it will not cause the heater or the TOC ( safety stat ) to fail. A badly blocked condenser is a common cause of stat failure, as is a faulty motor capacitor.
