——————————————————————————–
I have a Daewoo FR520NT fridge freezer .
It had started frosting up before I moved from the old house, (it was out in the garage) then it went into storage for 3 mths. When it was moved to the new house it was left to stand for a day and then switched on.
It’s never worked since, the lights come on, it sounds like it’s working but the freezer is vaguely cool and the fridge is just normal temp. I have checked the circuit board and it doesn’t look damaged.
The compressor (only one, situated at the bottom) gets roasting hot if the unit is left on, even when the fan is on. I have even tried putting it on it’s top for a day, then putting it back the right way for a day-as suggested by my local electric shop- in case of airlocks?
I recently removed the back panel of the freezer (fan here working OK too) and discovered a huge block of ice so I defrosted it, poured hot water down the overflow pipe and started it up again but it’s still not working.
I read somewhere that keeping a unit in the garage can cause problems so not sure if this is the cause.
Door seals aren’t perfect but not that bad.
Any ideas or advice appreciated.
