My Fisher & Paykel E402B Fridge / Freezer seems to be working fine, but four or five times in the last three weeks it starts beeping continually until a button is pressed on the internal control panel to silence it. The green light for the lower compartment (freezer) is flashing on the control panel until the alarm is silenced.

Can anyone tell me what this error code represents?

Googling suggests this might be a defrost heater problem, but that info was for a slightly different model which has the freezer on top, rather than the bottom like mine.

Temperature in both fridge and freezer seem OK, and there’s no obvious sign of frost build up.

Model No: 402B; Series D; Product No: 20231.

    Thanks
    Doug.

bottom light mostly means one of your fans is not working.
usually due to a broken wire.

agree with John, this is common problem on F&P fridge freezers, the wires to the fridge and freezer fans are very thin and do break. They are cheap to buy . . so dont panic.

Usual associated symptoms . . . overfrosting on back wall of freezer will usually mean the freezer fan has failed.

A warmer fridge (is your milk going off), will usually mean the fridge fan is at fault.

Thanks both. The fridge and freezer both seem the right temperature – so I’ll start with the freezer fan and see how I get on.
