    I’ve got the belt over the drum but can’t get it over the spindle of the motor. Do I have to remove the plastic fan on the motor spindle? And if so how? It’s fitted amazingly tightly. It’s driving me mad.

    you need to take off the fan. it sometimes can only be removed by breaking it.
