The pilot light ignition has stopped working on my Renown Gas oven. I probably need to replace the battery, but cannot find the battery compartment. Can anybody help? Thanks.

    Hi

Can you post up the model number please.

If your ignition is powered by a battery we should be able to help you locate it.

If however your gas cooker has mains powered ignition we will be unable to help I’m afraid as we are unable to advise on DIYGas repairs. You can always try the find an engineer option from the link in your post for further assistance.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi

Normally in the bottom of the chassis at the drop down door or maybe a plastic cover at the front.

I found the battery compartment for the pilot light ignition as suggested at the bottom of the chassis behind the drop down flap.

For anyone else who has a Parkinson Cowan Renown Deluxe gas cooker Model REND50WN. The battery compartment was easily located in a small black plastic box on the left side when flap opened
I replaced the single AA battery and the pilot light ignition worked once more.
    Thanks for your help.
