Had a couple of replies to the email which was sent out on Friday from Amica to get skillsets and WTA/DASA membership numbers where the companies are giving skillsets but refusing to join the WTA or DASA.

    see below:-

“As for the Trade Associations I have been in the Domestic Appliance Trade since 1972 when I began working for Hoover Ltd.
And I have been working as a sole trader for the last 30 years and built up a good reputation.
I do not feel the need to join a Trade Association.”

“We resigned from DASA years ago, and do not wish to join the WGTA, but can easily provide proof of Public Liability Insurance etc.”

I will compile the skilsets and membership numbers into an exel sheet and email to John in a week or so but what do we do with people who refuse to join. I thought it was a prerequisite.

It is a prerequisite I’m afraid.

If the repairer is not a member of either then they are very unlikely to receive any work unless there is no other alternative in the area.

    Re: Amica

why not invite them to come to the meeting and meet us ,also the Amica work letter that everyone will have read before agreeing to do the work clearly states that Amica req all agents to be benchmarked ,also send back the relevant part of the document to anyone that disputes it
