ParticipantHi,
I have a Bosch KGV 3120GB/02 Fridge freezer that had stopped working i.e. no sound from the compressor. The fridge section was warm and in the freezer section the ice was starting to disappear.
I have now managed to get it working again by opening up the front panel and using a spare clip from the left hand side and putting it over two pads by pins 1 & 2 at the other end of the PCB, apparently shorting out the thermistor. The compressor now runs, but does not switch off at all, even when the temperature dial is turned down. In addition, I noticed that as the fridge door is almost closed the light goes from bright to dim and stays on dim even with the door completely closed.
Can anyone please help offer advice to restore things to normal?
Many thanks.November 1, 2010 at 6:12 pm #334606nomadPaul
ParticipantCan’t comment on the wiring as i have no idea what you’ve done and forum rules dictate on how much detailed info we can give.
The flickering interior light is probably just the winter switch operated. Its the little red switch on the side of the lamp housing – Switch it so the red part is not showing and then try it.

Thanks for your reply.
I can’t locate any red button to switch on the side of the lamp housing. If the compressor runs continuously as it is doing now, does this mean I have to replace the control panel to get the temperature sensor working and cutting in and out?

ParticipantThere is a modification to bypass a faulty foamed-in sensor – But you have to know which wires to short out to ensure correct operation after the Mod.
I think whatever you’ve done to the wiring is incorrect…..where did you get the info from to do what you did ?
use the search facility on this forum and search for your model number and you’ll find lots of info.
