ParticipantHi,
Been tearing my hair out about this!
This machine has already has a new one-shot stat a few months ago because the customer keeps washing baby clothes and so dryer duct gets full of fluff.
Went back a week or so ago, this time dryer motor and one-shot stat open circuit, module also buggered. Whole dryer duct assy cheaper from Europart than the motor itself, so ordered and fitted this along with a new module from EMW.
Everything now works fine on all wash cycles. On the dryer cycle everything starts okay, water into condensor, heater on EXCEPT that the dryer fan doesn’t run at all – though the element heats up fine. Checked dryer motor, fine, checked wire continuity, also fine but there is some resistance (0.5ohms) in wires – not sure if this is because they are so thin? The board just isn’t supplying any power to the motor. No error codes come up. Main motor and heater both megger test fine.
Before I send the board back to EMW, is there anything else it could be? I was trying to work out if it could be “waiting” for anything. Have tried to dissuade customer from spending £150 on rubbish Indesit electronics but to no avail :rolls:

Give Tony a ring in the morning. Save yourself some time. He may have another board in stock and will probably send it out for you to try in.

Cheers, thanks Mike. They’re sending one out.
Has anyone else had a load of trouble with the Hotpoint Mk4 boards recently? Fitted five from EMW just this week – all the same problem, burning along the bottom of the board to the left of the heatsink (?). Not sure if it’s just coincidence or whether it’s to do with them starting up Didcot power station and spiking the voltages up…

Check for signs of leaks from the dryer assy, a common cause of PCB failure on these.

Replacement board from EMW sorted it, must have been a duff one they sent me first. Have to admit was a bit worried when testing dryer cycle as very rare for EMW boards to be faulty!
As for the Mk4 board failures, still at a loss… same fault occuring on both washer dryers and normal washers too… 🙁
