ParticipantI know washer dryers aren’t great, but I don’t have room for separate units. Baby on the way so need to be able to tumble dry.
I have narrowed the list down to either a Samsung WD8704RJA or a AEG L16850.
Which of these would be the better to go for?
Or is there better out there with a max depth of 600mm for a budget of under £600?
Cheers,
Simon

Bosch/Neff/Seimens.
There is no ‘good’ washer/dryer apart from the Meile. 😉

Hi Simon
A good read here on the merits of washer dryers.
I would go for the AEG and purchase from John Lewis for the added benefit of the free two year warranty.
Bosch and Siemens are also worth a look and have a two year warranty.
Those apart it`s time for a Miele which is the closest to doing what it says on the tin 😉

Cheers,
The John Lewis model mentioned in the article looks to be no longer on sale. Is this the newest equivalent http://www.johnlewis.com/230475116/Product.aspx?
How does this differ from the AEG L16850 apart from the load capacity?

Hi
Indeed that is the newer model 😉 Direct comparison between those two here for you.

Cheers,
Choosing a washer dryer is depressing! The Meile looks great but out of my budget.
I can get the AEG L16850 for £540 from my local independent electrical store or the John Lewis which has a smaller drying capacity for £60 more.
Which would be the better buy?
Is the Samsung not recommended at all?

Simon

Sorry guys, been looking at the Bosch and Siemens options.
Are the Siemens WD14H420 and Bosch WVH28420GB the same units with a different brand on them?
Would either of them be better than the AEG L16850 or John Lewis JLWD1609?

Simon

The AEG from the independant IMO, The JL is made by the same group of companies as the AEG.
I’m sorry but I need to pass on the Samsung, but I’m sure someone else will chip in.

Siemens are a higher spec machine and have more bells and whistles than the Bosch. Both brands are part of the BSH group, both have a two year warranty. Personally I prefer them to AEG.

Thanks Don – will see if I can stretch to the extra £200 or so for the Bosch. Will it be worth it?
