F**King Andy Trigg!!
He made me think about it. Probably his reason.
So I’ll fly it here first. If every repairer on there was to give up £20 a month it’s give me a budget of about £7000 PCM to promote it on Google etc.
Now, I can do a sh1tload with £7K a month and Google but would everyone bite… I think not. Hell, I spend less than a 10th of that now!
It’s annoying that there’s stuff that can be done but I doubt there’s the common will to do so.
Which is where John is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} correct. Most repairers don’t actually know or see who the competition actually is. By the time they do, it’ll probably be too late.
In the meanwhile I’ll cook something up that has zero cost to the repairers.

The problem is you are already getting some that comment that they have never received a job ,and some that have had jobs .
Now you could run the line for those that have had none this would be a way of maximizing there opportunity,but of course you will then get those who say why do I need to pay I am getting loads anyway …

TBH, I haven’t had a repairs@ job for probably 3 years… HOWEVER, for £20 a month I’d have a go as that would be MASS Gooooooooooogle advertising, might even top the Repaircare’s & 0800’s so for the £20, so if I got 4 or 5 a month, it’d be a good deal for £20…

*** After thought *** If this isn’t seen favourably, why not do what Yell etc do and give repairers the ‘Option’ of subscribing (By Direct Debit) to Repairs@ at for a better position / Advert?
I.e… 3 of us in CF on Repairs @, if I paid my £20 a month, I get nice header, web link and maybe 2 lines (Just something a bit ‘Fancier’), whereas if the others didn’t want to, they get a standard listing…? That way, you’re still keeping Repairs@ free to repairers if they want free 🙂

I did it for a while to repairs@ while the P&G thing was on the go as we had the cash to throw at it. It got the troops work, got us SFA.
Since then, I’ve not had the cash to arbitrarily do what I like. Sorta making a living and ensuring that UKW etc. survived at the time kinda took precedence.
What it proved to me was that we couldn’t afford to bankroll it.
What I decided to do was to design a way to do it where we could do at least some of it. As I explained to Lawrence earlier I have started on that and am working towards allowing a way to do it.
I’m at least 6-12 months away and I need a lot of things to fall into place to do it though and, even at that, I’m not going to offer any warranty that it’ll work.
Sorry for being so cryptic but a lot of this involves IP and copyright stuff and may well end up being patented as well so I’m not at liberty, as the university I’m working with on the tech has claim to some of the IP, to discuss it openly at this point in time.
As I also said to Lawrence, if I had another £50-100K to throw at it now I’d deliver it a lot sooner. I don’t have that much cash to fund something that…

2. doesn’t actually earn UKW or ISE any money
I’m trying to find a way through that. But without a bucket of cash I need to temper what I do.
