I have a copy of the excellent Washerdrier and Tumbledrier manual by Graham Dixon but it dates from 1999 so I asked Haynes if they were bringing out a new edition.
However:
“Unfortunately we are not planning to bring out a new edition of this title. We have to sell enough copies each year to make it viable to carry out the necessary work on a new edition – and unfortunately in this case, it wasn’t possible.”
Is this related to the decreasing lack of interest in repairing?
Or does everyone know it all now? 🙂Tim
Its probably because most machines these days are much more ‘electronically’ controlled rather than ‘mechanically’ operated. It a bit like modern cars. The omponents are so much more modular , requiring like for like replacement rather than an actual mechanical fix.
Re: Haynes manual
Graham Dixon is a friend of mine and I can assure you that work on the Haynes manual is an ongoing effort.
It gets revised often. Whether Haynes choose to publish the updates or not is a whole other story.
