ParticipantI am trying to repair the above Hoover HNF6167-80
The machine refuses to pump out,the pump is good and there are no downstream blockages.
The machine runs in all other respects, fills, spins and washes.
I have concluded the machine requires a new PCB and attach a couple of pics below.
I have a couple of questions.
1.What is the part number and a good place to purchase the item?
2.Does it need configuring/coding for the machine when installed and if
so is this easily done?3.My feeling so far is that a board component has failed-although this is
not obvious to the eye…..any comments re pics below? The front of the board…………

This is the rear-the slight scorch mark lower left does not seem to have damaged the tracks.

The pic below shows an expanded region with the furthest right triac showing perhaps?? a bit of damage. This is in the region of the voltage
out supply to the pump.
Thanks in advance -comments much appreciated!

Its rare for the PCB to suffer such damage without an external cause.
Release the door seal from the cabinet front and have a good look at the soap inlet hose. The sealing adhesive often breaks down around this hose allowing it to leak onto the pump, in particular the pump motor wiring plug.
The board can be obtained configured, why not drop an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with your requirements. đŸ˜‰

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the pump wiring back to the board and there is continuity
and no signs of water damage. The pump has been checked and is good.
I am obviously worried that a new board could go pop also-is there anything else I can check to minimise the risk?
Thanks again

As an update…
Ran a 90 degree wash and the machine prefilled, then filled, heated
and then timed out after an hour or so with error code 3.Glass warmish to the touch,26ohms on the element and good insulation
with a megger.Drain motor out and runs ok on test rig I have.
Ran the Hoover test sequence again timed out with error code 3.
no signs of leaks or bad connections anywhere.
Am I missing anything??
Thanks in advance!November 4, 2010 at 6:24 pm #334956iadom

Error 3 is a drain time out.
I still feel that something, somewhere has blown the PCB triac but you seem to have covered all of the options. :con:

Just to update and close this thread.
Due to the cost of a new replacement around£80(not so bad compared to some btw) I decided to risk
replacing the possible faulty triac in the above picture using my trusty draper gas soldering pencil.I scavenged a triac from another hotpoint board and a few minutes later
eureka the machine lives!I still have no idea why the triac gave way as there is no evidence of leaks
to the drain motor from any of the soap tray or drum connections. My only thought is that water could possibly get from the soap tray if it was pulled out by mistake whilst filling?
anyway fingers crossed its fixed and its doesnt go pop again too soon!
