ParticipantIm starting to wish i never sold any of these s*&t machines !!!
AWCT12L is the one i have had the most problems with, i have had a few fail under warranty in the last 2 months none of which have been repaired !!, i have replaced them all. Main problem seems to be lack of spares, time for engineers to visit (worst one was 2 weeks), i had one today with weight broken through drum and no tubs avail to repair it. I know for a fact a dealer local to me has been having similar probs. I was interested in being an agent for them, but i dont think i will bother !!. Anyone else having similar trouble ?.November 5, 2010 at 11:53 pm #334993gandh1

gotta say it was always the awct10’s that have given us headaches – leaky solenoids that drip on the tub then onto the motor, or pcb corruptions… not actually had any build quality issues…
bad batch maybe?
and i think this is why amica are trying to get the retailers to self-sevice the machines, as they will be more motivated not to write off a machine they have sold, which obviously lowers the rate of returns – iirc ken on here is having something to do with supplying spares, so they should be much more organised in that respect.
i do know amica are a bit annoyed at gdha’s attitude to fixing these, i think gdha as a company see it as a bit of a cash cow (maybe they issue guidelines on how long the engineer is allowed to spend on each call out – if its liek the telephone system which only allows them to stay on the phone line to a customer for a maximum of 2 minutes…?) and dont forget most of the gdha guys are refrigeration/cooker specialists, and those that are familiar are often baffled by the whole diagnostics setup the wm have… its certainly more comprehensive that the average big name brand…

Yup, I am involved in it for my sins. 😕
And, trying to resolve some of the issues that you’re encountering as well.
I would like to point out at this juncture, I’m no saint, no messiah and do not possess the power of divine intervention or anywhere even close to any of them.
I have managed (I hope) to speed up the spares thing but there are still some delays on some parts. I’m really sorry if you’re caught in that malarky but I am working on getting the delays down to days, not weeks. So far I’ve managed to clear a load of stuff, which is why I wasn’t on here much for two days as I went down into stores and made up the orders myself.
If you got the wrong bits it was likely my fault. 😉
There is a large backorder due next week from Poland that should clear the vast bulk of any spares remaining. But, if there’s an acute problem let me know and I will do what I can to resolve it.
With the weights, yes, there has been an issue on some of them and the error appears to lie with the company that supplied them. Basically, they didn’t produce to specification on some to save a bit of cash. We all hope that’s now resolved.
Seller service, live as soon as the tech is ready. Hopefully this month, it’s already behind by about a month.
Cooking and cooling, to follow.
Stay tuned. 😉

Thank you ken, that has cleared up a few things for us with Amica, i did register to be an agent so i will just wait to hear back, cust did say on one of the machines that the engineer was from glen dimplex and did not want to spend any time on the machine, it was basically left in bits in the customers house. 😯
