    Hi,

The drying fan on our dishwasher has been having trouble. I’ve taken the front panel off and cleared the drain hose. However, the fan itself was not working very well (loud and not very strong).

I addition, the little flaps that are meant to open and close on the inside of the fan weren’t working. That is, it wasn’t opening when the drying cycle starts nor closing when the door is opened.

I managed to get the fan assembly out and gave it a good clean with compressed air. I also put a bit of WD-40 in the fan bearing.

That seems to have fixed the fan (it is much quieter and seems stronger). And the flaps seem to have opened at the end of the cycle, but they don’t close again unless I tap on the inside of the door near the fan. I’m not entirely sure they’re opening at the right time (i.e., when the drying starts).

Is there anything else I can try to get the flaps working better?
Does anyone know if this is one part from Miele?
Assuming it’s one part, I could replace it myself, but would it be better to get Miele in to fix it?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Cheers,
    Mark
