Just read the manual and it looks a doddle to use.
My Wife seems to like it as it doesnβt stick out as much as the LG did. She will use it tomorrow and I will report back with her opinion. It looks very nice though must say.November 10, 2010 at 11:21 pm #335512mutley1

Just one thing that has occurred to me. I have a dated delivery note but no receipt for the washer (unless they are the same) and there is nothing in the manual that mentions the 10 year guarantee and no guarantee documents from axa. Also if a fault does develop under warranty who do I contact?

It’s not a problem, we’ve had to change the system a bit to make it work better for people.
All we need is the appliance registered which the retailer should do for you.
Usually, within a few weeks a warranty certificate will be issued by ISE which confirms that all is well, it’s all done automagically and you don’t have to bother. If you don’t see that within a month then by all means let me know or call ISE and it will be sorted. Very, very few slip through the net though.
The manual is, currently a generic one as (I’ll get saddled with this anyway) I’ve not rewritten it yet. I won’t do a rewrite of it until I get to play with the machine a bit, get feedback from users and find the silly things out that can trip people up as well as info that can help.
What always happens, the manufacturer is irrelevant, is that the manuals are written by factory tech. spods. The Swedes are actually pretty good at this, way better than most, but I’d still like to see a lot more info in there personally as I think it helps. It will get done but it will take some months and then will probably be revised as time goes on.
I also wanted to do some video on it but, apparently, I haven’t a face (or voice) for it so it got bombed as we’d need an actor! π
I did get a machine to test with about two days ago but I’ve not had a chance to have a really good look at it beyond my first impression on the new interface which, as usual, is Swedish. Stupidly simple, elegant, uncluttered and clear as a bell while being very comprehensive, I’d love to know how they do that as it’s just genius. But then, the guys in R&D do spend a ludicrous amount of time on that stuff trying to make it as easy as they can.
And that was the other reason my video idea got bombed, I was told it was too easy to use, no point in a video of it.
Spoilsports I say. π

One problem the fitter had was with the water feed pipe
It is about 2m long and made out of a rigid plastic. I had to use the old one of my LG (it was mint so not a problem) as the ISE one wouldnt bend enough to go in the space.November 11, 2010 at 12:57 pm #335518mutley1

I’m sure I read on here a while ago that when the fitter comes round he plugs it in and gets it to run a cycle and does a demo. After it was fitted I mentioned this to him and he said that they didnt do that and he had fitted loads of them.

hi,
I will be having the new 1607 delivered soon, do you think that i will actually need a demo? I will be ordering from my local supplier who didnt mention a demo when i phoned, but then again it is only Β£15 for delivery, installation and recycling my old machine. It probably depends on how much you pay, i suspose i would want a demo included if i was paying Β£50. I think it does mention somewhere about a demo being included but i think that is probably if buying from the ukwhitegoods site. It would obviously take a bit of time to do a cycle so you would basically be paying for the time of the engineer or whoever installs it.
Hope you enjoy your new machine, if thats the right expression for a washing machine, i know i will when i get mine. π
ps – excitedly off to look at the pics! :bounce:
