    Hi Guys

    Have a Bosch WF02466GB with a non-running motor.

Have recently replaced the bushes. have checked them again and they are fine.

Have continuity between the bushes and the commutator.

With the machine powered on and set to spin I have 240v at each of the brushes but the motor doesn’t turn.

There is a (very) high resistance between the commutator and the case.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Steve

Not sure how it’s “silly” if you know what you are doing and take approriate precautions, but thanks for the patronising comment. I don’t know much about washing machines but I do know a few things about volts and amps.

My question was “anyone got any ideas?”. Perhaps I should rephrase it as “does this mean that the motor is dead, and if so can it be repaired or do I need a new one (£200 plus) in which case the machine is scrap”.

You are probably fighting a losing battle if the armature has been damaged.
With an earth short I would have expected your mains to trip though.
Sometimes the internal thermal fuse blows -check your motor connections to see if any are oc.

The comment re live testing is really for all the folk that browse these public forums-you may have lots of experience but many dont

    live testing……then someone can die.
