Sorry, no model no. Customer just rang in and asked my advice. Washing machine had stopped mid-cycle with some water still present at the same time as they had noticed the house lights flickering. They asked neighbours who confirmed this was a general power interruption/surge affecting their area. They have tried new fuse and different socket.
I said it sounded like some sort of damage may have befallen the electronics and she might be best to get on to Hoover and enquire if its a known problem.
Any thoughts?
Mike.

Go for it Mike, worth your expert investigative skills to take a shufty at it I know. From the remote position we find ourselves right now on this it could be anything from dead rat chewing the mains filter terminals to the coreboard cooked to a crisp! Well worth your call-out fee I’ll be bound, on yer bike dude!.

Don’t fancy it. Especially not in this weather. Money’s not so important to me that I want to spend half an hour poring (or even pouring) over some inscrutable square plate of chips looking for a burn mark. Especially hate ribbon cables whose sockets break if you try to pull them out.
I’ll give her your phone number, shall I? 😆
What I wanted to know was if anyone had experience of similar occurences on Hoover. I’ve seen lightning etc mentioned in relation to Lux.
