    Guys,

Before I get too involved in this job, called in quickly at a customer’s house today, they have a Servis M6852 W washing machine. The problem they have is that when they select a program the machine does not always respond correctly. For example is reset is selected the washing light illuminates, if they select rinse then sometimes the rinse light illuminates, sometimes the wash light illuminates. It all seems very random. Furthermore getting the machine to start it’s cycle is very hit and miss too!

I didn’t want to get too involved as it was getting late. Can any of you give me some pointers, there seems to be limited information on this machine.

Module terminals may be beginning their burn up.

    Steve,
sometimes the selector can play up (I have taken them apart and cleaned them too) but in with this scenario I always say to the customer switch off, select off, switch on for 10 secs, switch off, select programme and switch on then start. I know it’s long winded but as these boards can memorise previous programmes it normally clears it.

    Cheers Guys

I’ll let you know the outcome.

Mike, are you saying that the fault might be on the module itself, in this case is it a new board?

Yes and no. I’m saying that these modules that are down in the base of the machine with a big connector plug along one short edge are prone to burning up of said connector. If you catch it early enough, you can rewire it with seperate amp tags. Sometimes it blows a triac or two if it’s left too long before they call you.
    Mike.
