ParticipantF10 purports to be a ‘Pressure Switch not sensing’ error on this heap of poo? Now when I get there it works just great, I take the air tube off and give it a blow and all is clear. The sump/pump is also clean as a whistle. It fills as per normal, low level for wash, higher on the rinse cycle. It drains out quicker than it takes the loo to flush. I sit there watching it washing merrily until boredom gets the better of me and my brew has gone cold, machine works perfect.
Customer shells out my call out fee and I shoot off to my next call just 10 mins away. Get there and the phone rings………. “Martin, it’s me again, it’s doing it again, stopped with F10 pump blocked showing on the LCD!”
Went back again, did all the same checks, working friggin’ perfect, no faults found, left it washing merrily after 20 odd minutes and all the mindless boring conversation with my customer so I clear off.
20 mins later it’s her again……“Martin, it’s me again, it’s doing it again, stopped with F10 pump blocked showing on the LCD!”
So right now I cannot be ar$sed to go back again today but one thing puzzles me though? 😕 I cannot see where the hell the pressure vessel is? Is it built into the tub? Maybe it wants taking off and cleaning? That’s all I can figure at this point guys, what else could there be to check?….HELP! 🙁

Intermittant break in wires to pump?
Did you try replacing the pump?

Hmmmm?….the trouble is that when this error happens it’s during the first 5 – 10 mins of the wash as it’s tumbling and heating. It then stops what it’s doing and pumps out all the water! So I’m thinking it must be pressure switch or air chamber or crappy electrics…maybe? 😕

Ok.. I would say put your tester on the pressure switch to see if it fails during the wash/tumble/heat if it does then you have your result. Megger the heater at the point that it starts to empty… rule out the element breaking down when it gets warm. Also check the filter for residue to make sure you are not getting floating crap into the pressure tube.

That’s my original query, where is the pressure vessel? Can it be accessed, removed and cleaned? Can’t see the darn thing in situ and it doesn’t show up on Partfinder either. 😕 😕 😕 😕
P.S It’s a AQGD169SUK by the way. :rolls:

AFAIK the pressure chamber is moulded into the drum and cannot be accessed to clean. 😥
Not sure if you can get at it by removing a drum paddle. ❓

Ooooo! That’s a thought Jim, thanks for that, it didn’t occur to me to remove the drum paddle I must admit though I suspected the pressure vessel was part of the tub.
But, that brings me to my next dilemma. The Indesit Company ‘engineer’ replaced the ‘drum assembly’ under their 5 year part warranty just around 6 months ago. Hardly enough time for the pressure vessel to have gunged up (I would have thought?) but not one to rule out at this point I suppose?
Dunno how reliable the pressure switches are? Maybe I should order and stick a new one in just to see if that cures all? She did say that it took 3 visits from Indesit to solve the problem created by the engineer that stuck the new tub in. Apparently they had to configure the machine with a laptop then go away and come back with a ‘small black box’ which they said was faulty? Looking around inside there’s all kinds of extra units attached to the module, maybe it’s something to do with the 3 phase motor unit….dunno?
Looks a bl**dy nightmare TBH, not a clue about these beasts and would love a service manual if only to figure out how the s8dding things work?
Presumably they ‘auto sense’ the washload and adjust the water level automatically?…That too I …dunno. 😥
Too many options, so little time, not enough money in the bother of it all, truth be known. :rolls:
