Now I’ll try and keep this as simple as possible.I’ve come across the above machine today with a duff armature the original pt no was 91212464 which has been superseded to 91942038.Now i’ve got a Hoover motor thats been sitting in the garage for a while and would love to get rid of it, pt no 91942039 which is a Ceset motor the one on the appliance is a P40 motor.
My question is does anyone know if the Ceset motor is a compatible replacement for the P40.
You never know what you’ll come across as a motor in some of these older Hoovers. You’d need to get them side by side to compare which wires went where. I think it’s the tacho output that is the most critical, I doubt they’d be the same but they might be close enough.
I think I might still have a s/h P40 somewhere, though I may have nicked the tacho coil off it. I’ll have a root around over weekend if you like and could send it cheaply using http://www.collectplus.co.uk if there’s no great hurry.
Mike.
Thanks for your replies guy’s, but i’ve ordered a new one to be on the safe side. As she’s a senior citizen I don.t want to create any possible problems. As its not too expensive trade pricewise ill let her have it at half price, it’ll keep the overall cost down.
If they have the same plug they are interchangeable. There is a Sole version too. You will probably find they will send you a Ceset. They did for me and it worked.
