    8yr old Stoves 120cm range with a faulty main oven thermostat.
    The rest of the unit is in perfect condition.
    Stoves no long make a 120cm range.
    Kitchen has granite worktops and would cost a fortune to change.
    Only problem is the orginal stat is obsolete and anticlockwise operation.
    Spent 5 hrs rewiring the main oven/grill to work with a standard continental oven stat.
    Never again but chuffed that it worked.

    Respect. You obviously like a challenge. Hope you charged ’em plenty. Sounds like they should be able to afford it. (My left wing tendencies showing a bit there.)
    But manufacturers didn’t ought to be allowed to get away with this sort of thing.

    pretty sure there is a mod kit for this stat available…..

    No mod kit available according to Stoves, but they did offer a discount towards a new 110cm Range.
    Made my own mod kit that cost me under a tenner, charged the customer £250.00.
    Everyone was happy except Stoves.
