Looked at a ‘Premium Appliance Brand’ BTD600 Tumble Dryer, made by Crosslee White Knight.
After about 15 minutes the drum starts to slow down and the machine sounds as if something is seizing/binding until the drum stops rotating altogether and just hums. If I turn the machine off then on again it refuses to start, the motor doesn’t even hum.
If the machine is left for about 1/2 an hour it will work again for another 15 minutes.
If I turn the drum by hand it rotates freely so isn’t seizing.
The element has an earth fault of 8 megohms, the motor tests OK.
I have never had an earth fault on an element cause a motor fault so I am thinking it’s the motor that’s faulty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Keith.
