Cannot start cycle (Kenwood)

Getting an E1 error code

Checked the hose and water flow no problems.
Have removed the side and tapped the inlet valve. Still keeping getting error code.
When machine is turned on water enters the machine (you can see it flowing into the plastic box on the side and down into the machine). If you open the machine after it has run for a minute there is water inside; however, after a couple of minutes the E1 code pops up, beeps and drains the machine.

Any ideas?
